Welcome to the MTC Sister Killen!

With Madison all packed up, it was time to take her to the Missionary Training Center (MTC).  It was one of the most joyful yet difficult things to do.  Saying goodbye knowing that we wouldn't see her again for 18 months was an interesting experience.  Needless to say there were many tears, especially Deborah (who at one point went into the "ugly cry").  But Madison was ready.  She tenderly kissed & hugged each one of us, told us she loved us, grabbed her suitcase, turned around, and with a big smile on her face walked away with her confident, determined walk.  We're so very proud of her and what she's accomplished!  We look forward to her weekly emails, letters, and bi-annual phone calls.  What a blessing it is to have a full-time missionary in the family!

Love you sissy!

That's our girl!  Go get 'em Sister Killen!
P.S. - Some of you have asked where the younger siblings were when Madison left.  We had the kids say their goodbyes before school at home.  Since we could drive only one car through the MTC parking lot, we weren't able to take everyone with us.  But we had a special family prayer at 6:30 in the morning with everyone (except Kristin who is in San Diego), and goodbyes & hugs were given.

  1. Well, I teared up just looking at the photos! I can and can't believe these girls are getting old enough to do all this. Yet, Lauren will likely be following her this fall. Amazing girls who will be amazing missionaries.
